My heart was not prepared for this key day 🔑🤍
Some of the most meaningful moments in real estate have nothing to do with houses—they’re about the stories, relationships, and generations that grow within them.
One of the greatest gifts of this career is watching families grow and evolve through the years.
Many years ago, we helped a wonderful couple purchase their first condo—before they were married and before they became parents to their beautiful little girl. Today, that little girl is growing up, and the family is beginning an exciting new chapter together.
They’re moving into their dream ranch. This was a family decision to create multigenerational living—grandparents, parents, brother and granddaughter together under one address. At the same time, we have Mom and Dad’s home in escrow to make this incredibly thoughtful purchase possible. We’re selling the very first home Mom and Dad purchased as a newly married couple, the home they raised their children in, the first home they’ve ever sold.
As someone who believes that learning doesn’t only happen in a classroom, I love what this move represents. A multigenerational home creates endless opportunities for children to learn from the wisdom, stories, traditions, and life experiences of those who came before them. Some of life’s most meaningful lessons are passed down around the dinner table, during everyday conversations, and through simply doing life together.
Helping families create spaces where those connections can flourish is one of the most meaningful parts of what I do. What a privilege it is to be part of their journey—from first homes to dream homes, and from one generation to the next. I can’t think of a more deserving family.
It also makes me reflect on the homes that have shaped my own life. What lessons, traditions, or memories have been passed down in your family? I’d love to hear your story in the comments.
