Here are some of the top questions we have heard during past info sessions:

❓ What will a home cost?

About the same as a comparable newly built home in Santa Cruz. Current projections range from roughly $1.2M-$2M for around 1,000-1500 sq ft, based on expected 2030 prices.

❓ When could I move in?

We're targeting 2030. Design workshops are done, and joining now means helping shape the community before it's built.

❓ How do decisions get made?

Together. Coastside is resident led, so members have a real voice in everything from site planning to shared spaces.

Shared meals are just the beginning.

In cohousing, community comes naturally; neighbors you actually know, kids who play freely outside, and connection built into the place you call home.

We’ve been working with Katie McCamant, the woman who pioneered cohousing in the US over 35 years ago. And she puts it simply: “Community meals are the special sauce.”

Remember when you could just knock on a friend's door?

When kids roamed the neighborhood until the streetlights came on, and there was always a grown-up nearby who knew your name?

Somewhere along the way, a lot of us lost that. Now playdates take a group text, help means hiring someone, and parenting can feel really lonely.

It doesn't have to be this way. 🌊
