The group Santa Monica Transparency is gathering 10,000 petition signatures to have Term Limits for Santa Monica City Council placed on the November ballot for voters to approve.

They are recommending three 4-Year Terms (12 years total) moving forward (not retroactive). For example, this means that the couple City Council Members who have already served over 20 years will be able to serve over 30 years before they term-out...seems fair/reasonable.
