I purchased myself this for my 70th birthday. I must admitt that it is hard to get down on the floor and drink from it. ;) I think that I will give it to my cats. LOL

This article is by my favorite law school professor, Sheldon Nahmod. A very knowledgeable man who I very much respect. It may be of interest since interactions between the police and the persons they stop are very much in the news. In my many years as an attorney, I have known some very good cops who are the kind of hero that runs towards the sound of gunfire. Just before the shutdown there was a felony sentencing hearing for a client of mine. The courthouse was closed and the hearing was rescheduled. The prison system anywhere is the worst place to be during the pandemic. Social distancing in an overcrowded prison system is nonexistent. In my opinion the horror stories we have all heard about 26th and California are true. Many years ago I had to petition the Court to have the "Warden" of a prison held in contempt of Court for witholding absolutely necessary medication for a client. It took a Court Order for the lifesaving medication to be provided. The various prisons in Ilinois are now reducing the sentences of people who are not a "danger to the comunity" lest a sentence for a minor offense become a death sentence. I have visited clients in all of the local counties and even for attorneys, being there for an hour it is an eerie feeling when the doors clang behind you. If you know someone that is locked up pay attention to their care.
