This evening at bath time I sang Little Bunny Foo Foo for Gilda, which I often do, but tonight was different. In the past when I sang for her she would smile with bubbles on her head and enjoy the song, but that’s it. Tonight she was so in it she was practically Foo Foo himself! She slapped my palm every time I said bop, she wagged her finger with me when the good fairy admonished Foo Foo for his bopping. When I said ‘or I’ll turn you into a…’ she said ‘goon,’ a word she has never said, right on cue. Magic. What if all of that had happened in this house? To live that life, wow. A dream.

In the last few months I’ve had the joy of spending extra time in the Mt Tabor neighborhood with a client buying and selling just a few blocks away from this home. Maybe you saw their gorgeous home on SE 71st? Of the many perks of this beautiful neighborhood my wallet was burdened by my love of . I’ve done the math and have spent an unreasonable percentage of my commission on their cookies and lattes. So while I love this area of town, if you buy this home be warned you will have to set aside some funds for afternoon treats.

Exactly one year ago I had the honor of helping a client sell a very similar mid-century ranch home in Reedwood, just a few blocks from this stunner. I live in a 1912 home near Alberta st, so spending all that time in a 1969 home near Reed was a delightful change. The thoughtful design and details of these homes is beyond. And, like, we forget, but living in a home built after the invention of TV, refrigerators, and washing machines is kinda nice.
