My father was a career Naval Officer father and my family enjoyed living two years in one of the historic yellow homes on the crest of Magnolia’s Discovery Park. I graduated from Central Kitsap High School and then went on to graduate from the United States Naval Academy with a degree in mechanical engineering and served as a Naval Officer both on active duty and in the reserves. I picked up real

estate working as a residential agent with Century 21 in San Diego from 2005-2007. Next I spent three years full time as a graduate student at the University of Washington, earning two masters degrees, MBA and M.S. I decided to get back into brokerage and joined Windermere from 2014-2015. Now I am a residential and commercial broker with HomeSmart Real Estate Associates. I'm an enthusiastic consumer of continuing education to advance my industry knowledge and professionalism. I earned the Master Certified Negotiation Expert designation. This is important for my clients because I frequently get them “deals” by negotiating strategically. I earned the Certified Real Estate Analyst designation, which means I have the knowledge, skills, and strong problem solving aptitude for analyzing real properties as financial investments. I have received several inquiries about this property, so I felt compelled to post about it. $200k and you will own one bedroom in a two bedroom house. A stranger could own the other bedroom. You both share the downstairs common area. You both get a 25% stake in the property. I asked the listing broker who owns the other 50% of the property. She didn’t respond. The news article says it’s her husband. 😂 Give her credit for outside the box thinking, but I would be hesitant about a client going for this one.

Listing spotlight: I am working to find a buyer for this cool condo in Westlake with commanding views of Lake Union. It has everything an owner would need including reasonable HOA's, washer/dryer in-unit, storage, secure garage parking, bike parking, and is updated throughout. Central location close to Meta, Amazon, Google, etc., easy to rent, pet friendly. And those views! All it needs now is a new owner.

Yes, mortgage interest rates are high compared to the previous several years. Yes there's a lot of economic uncertainty with high inflation both domestically and globally. Yes there's a lot going on in global politics such as war in Ukraine, OPEC cutting oil production, etc. Sometimes however, the best time to buy is during such periods before things settle down again. The underlying drivers of demand in the Seattle market still exist including strong employment and quality of life. If you know anyone looking to live near downtown, this condo may be a good option!
