Dolly Parton never had to leave the Smoky Mountains behind—because she carried them with her everywhere she went. ❤️

She carried the faith she learned as a child, the music of a mountain church, the stories of a large, close-knit family, and the unmistakable spirit of East Tennessee into a life that touched people all over the world.

Today, we remember not only an extraordinary entertainer, but a woman who never seemed ashamed of humble beginnings. Instead, she honored them. She loved these mountains, invested in their people, and gave back generously to the place that first shaped her.

For those of us who love the Smokies, Dolly will always feel like part of this place.

We pray for comfort for her family and all who loved her, and we are grateful for a life that brought so much joy to so many.
