Quick little closing in Brillion over lunch today. Matt and I are so excited to be proud owners of sister cabins! This cabin (yet to be named) is Camp Miller's neighbor. The stars aligned a bit, and we can now call it 'ours.' We can't wait to get settled in this fall and have some family sleepovers.

This cabin will be available to rent early spring- sooner, if we get our butts in gear.

This guest book is so special to us. Each time I drive up to Camp Miller, I’m focused on the laundry, clean up, lists of items to restock…. And each time I walk through the door, the first thing I do is read the latest entries in our guest book.

The simple act of our guests taking a handful of minutes to write about their days here- what they did, what they saw, how they felt- is everything. These written words, in so many different scripts and styles, remind me that what we have here is important. We get to share a place we love- and continue to pour love into- with other people in search of a little tranquility.

It’s just a cabin. Just a tiny little lake. It’s certainly not perfect. And yet, because of this growing collection of memories from so many people, it’s magical!

Can’t wait to double the magic with Camp Miller’s sister cabin ❤️

Also pictured: our guests sometimes leave the sweetest gifts! I’ve never once thought to do this while on my own vacation, but now I will- because I know how much it means to the hosts sharing their homes. Certainly not expected, but when it happens we are humbled.

These raised beds couldn’t have been easier! Thanks .roadhome and for the idea.

16 Oldcastle blocks from đź’˛40

Four 2x12x8 pine boards, untreated (they should last 5+ years outside) đź’˛52

Two raised beds for cheap and this took maybe 30 minutes to assemble. Mostly that was lugging the blocks to the garden.

My old windows should fit on top, so these can also be cold frames.

I LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR!!
