The May Recap is here...and one for the books! ✨

The Mangum Real Estate Team had the pleasure of serving families all across Cleveland County (and Blacksburg, SC 😉) this past month in just about every facet of the real estate market! From First Time Home Buyers, Move Up Buyers and Sellers, Family Estates, Relocation Buyers and Investors, we have covered some ground this month (quite literally)!

At this month's event, we shared scoops and smiles with so many of you and are so grateful for the opportunity to love on our clients and connect with families who call Cleveland County "home"! Happening today! ✈️☀️

✈️ The Shelby-Cleveland County Regional Airport will host its annual Fly-In & Open House this Saturday, June 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This FREE community event is open to the public and fun for the whole family!

🚁 Compass Aviation will offer limited airplane rides for $40 per person and JAARS will offer limited helicopter flights for $50 per person. Each aircraft will carry an average of five passengers per flight.

Atrium Health will have a medical helicopter on site for viewing and touring, and guests can also enjoy displays of American and European cars, aviation exhibits, and booths from organizations including:
• CAP (Civil Air Patrol)
• Marine Corps League Foothills Detachment #1164
• Compass Aviation
• Resurgence
• Powered Parachutes
• Hot Air Ballooning
• FAA (Federal Aviation Administration)
• JAARS
• Flight Training Representatives

🍔 Food vendors and snowballs will also be available throughout the event.

Come tour the airport terminal, grab a bite to eat, and experience aircraft up close while watching planes take off and land throughout the day!

Relationships through Real Estate are the life line of this business! 🫶🏼

If you’ve been around a while, you’ll remember the home for sale just inside the Polkville town limits with the big blue shop. I had the honor of representing the Wilkie Family as they closed this chapter of over 50 years on Polkville Road. Like any unique property with age (agents will understand), it is often hard to market to the right people that will truly appreciate its history, its character and its legacy. Once filled with a vibrant life that are now memories for generations to hold on to.

After over a year on the market, I got a phone call. On the other side, Steve and Cindy McHugh. They had recently relocated to the Carolina’s from Florida and were currently residing in the hustle and bustle of Harrisburg. They knew that lifestyle wasn’t a forever fit. A road trip later, and the “diamond in the rough” on Polkville Road tugged at their heart. A home with strong bones and charming character is nothing but a perfect match for an interior designer, to which she was by trade. And that shop? The perfect forever home for McHugh Metalworks!

Fast forward a year and a half later, and the McHugh’s are thriving here in Shelby! Last week, as you know, we hosted our “Scoop into Summer” Community Ice Cream Social. These two were the first ones there. Thrilled to squeeze their necks, I look over and see this sign sitting in the window of Uptown Sweets & Treats Shelby, N.C. Confused for a minute, I looked over to see the biggest grin on their faces! A SURPRISE that left me in a puddle! 🥹 Steve had been working on this beautiful masterpiece (you should see the detail in person) in his shop for us and had surprised us with it at the event! The thought behind it is astonishing and the gesture, one I will never forget!

I think I’ll just hang it in the living room! 😉

I urge you to support this local business and the smiles and heart behind it! Always counting my blessings for that phone call that introduced me to the McHugh’s! 💗
