You know things are getting lean when the # of replies on a request for service post jumped from 20-30 to 75-100 in just a few weeks. So that leads me to this question or 5.
When you ask for a specific service whether it be grading, tree removal, fill dirt or aggregate. And someone who is specific about what they do but replies to an unrelated post. With such an extensive list to chose from, how do you know you are choosing the right one? Do you call/reply to all of them ? Do you just go with who has the most recommendations? Do you use the local guy or the guy who lives 3 counties away but has run out of work or reputation and now has to work where he isn’t known? How do you know you you made the right choice if you don’t contact everyone who replied? Do you want the grass cutter to repair your fence? Do you want the fence guy to take your trees down? There are a lot of us who can and will do it all and then there are some who shouldn’t be doing any of it. I see it all the time , “we hired abc and the took our money or left us with a bigger mess than we started with”
These are general questions that I don’t think will ever be answered.
