SINGER ISLAND BLUE HERON BRIDGE UPDATE:
Our Palm Beach Shores Sergeant, Steve Langevin, attended the FDOT/Pinnacle meeting between a myriad of county, state, and municipal representatives.
This is what he learned;
The project was delayed due to the hurricane.
The project is now ahead of the revised schedule.
The start date is March 20, 2023.
There is a possibility the project will end early on August 31st. However, the set end date is October 29, 2023.
There will not be a full shutdown of the bridge unless two (2) triathlon events occur. Separate talks will be had regarding this.
On or about March 27th, Westbound bridge traffic will be closed.
Traffic will be diverted to the eastbound section, at which time the road will be shared between east and westbound traffic, and separation markers will be added until the project completion.
Swimming under the bridge will be closed and fencing erected.
Scuba diving will continue on the southeast (beach) section, and access is gained by way of the south stairs on the little bridge.
