I was born and raised in the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia, PA. Although I miss my Philly pretzels and cheesesteaks, I could never fathom leaving the beautiful Sierra Mountains and clean air. I have a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and my many years of customer service has seasoned me to be able to handle all situations with honesty, integrity, fairness and compassio

n. My career began over 30 years ago in property management and until recently, I have transitioned myself into a Consultant at Dickson Realty. I chose Dickson Realty not only for their excellent reputation and training program, but because it gave me an opportunity to work with my sister who has also been a Realtor for Dickson Realty for many years now. What an honor it is to work for such an amazing company. Outside of work, my biggest love next to my family, married to my husband for 32 years and two children ages 30 and 21 is my love for dogs and hiking in my beautiful mountains that surround us. I
have had so many dogs in my lifetime that I wrote an award-winning book about them in 2011, Puppies For Sale $25. Winning the Next Generation Indy Book award in category of Animals and pets was very unexpected, but an honor to be acknowledged. How Much Do You Need for Your Down Payment?

Do you know how much you actually need for your down payment? If you think you have to put 20% down, you may have set your goal based on a common misconception. Freddie Mac says, “The most damaging down payment myth—since it stops the homebuying process before it can start—is the belief that 20% is necessary.”

Unless specified by your loan type or lender, it’s typically not required to put 20% down. According to the Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers from the National Association of Realtors (NAR), the median down payment hasn’t been over 20% since 2005. It may sound surprising, but today, that number is only 13%. And it’s even lower for first-time homebuyers, whose median down payment is only 7%.
