Water doesn’t need an invitation—it follows the slope. 💧🏠

During this inspection, I found that the concrete patio slopes toward the house instead of away from it. That can direct rainwater toward the foundation and potentially contribute to moisture intrusion, settlement, and other costly problems.

It may look like a small detail, but water management around a home matters. This is why a thorough inspection is so important before you buy.

During a home inspection, a cast-iron plumbing stack like this deserves a closer look.

Sometimes older cast iron gets painted simply to make it look better. But paint can also cover corrosion, staining, patched areas, or other signs of deterioration that would otherwise be easier to spot.
