Not just the city, but the neighborhoods, pricing trends, and what homes are actually selling for vs. listing price. A good agent should be able to talk about local comps, demand, and even little things like school districts or upcoming developments.

2. What’s your strategy for helping me win?
If you’re buying, ask how they help clients compete in multiple-offer situations. If you’re selling, ask how they plan to market your home beyond just listing it. Vague answers here are a red flag.

3. What should I realistically expect throughout this process?
This gets into timelines, costs, potential challenges, and how communication will work. You want someone who sets clear expectations instead of just telling you what you want to hear.
