Congrats to Clint Moiser, on winning the St. Louis Carpenter’s apprentice of the year! We’re thankful Clint chose to work at Wies Drywall!

As we bring National Apprentice week to a close. Please be aware what unions and registered apprenticeship programs do for America. These are privately funded organizations, who train highly qualified people that are hard working and extremely productive.
-
People who choose this career path are provided pay while they are learning a sought after skill. They graduate their apprenticeship with no student loan debt and are earning a very solid and sustaining wage.

Today would've been Bob Wies's 88th birthday
-
Which means that approximately 70 years ago he would've turned 18 years old and joined the Carpenters union
-
After joining, he started hanging drywall in St. Charles county homes
-
Construction wasn't just a way for him to support himself. It was a way for him to provide for his family
-
His dad died when he was in 9th grade, he was the oldest of the 7 siblings
-
He made $60 a week and gave $20 a week to help support his mother and siblings
-
Drywall wasn't just a way to make a living and get straight into the middle class
-
It provided for his young family and his mother, brothers and sisters
-
He cared for people further than just his family in this same way
-
It's this foundation, that he laid, that makes us who we are today
-
We try hard everyday, to carry on the care and courtesy that he showed his employees and clients
-
Happy Birthday Bob!
