If you’ve ever been to a swamp in Florida you’re bound to have seen lots of these roots. They can look kinda funny sometimes and develop very interesting curls and patterns.
The tangled root structures can be found on trees like the Myristica (wild nutmeg) or certain mangroves, which use these roots to respire above water or stabilize themselves.
The roots are heavily intertwined and emerge from the ground, resembling a knotted or rhizomatic pattern.
