When I was young, I wanted to be:
An architect
A zoologist (herpatologist)
A composer (choral)
A rockstar
I was kicked out of my band in high school, all my amphibian and reptile pets died, and I dropped out of college. Did a little stint doing Taxidermy in Alaska before moving back down to MN.
I never had even considered real estate until 2009. I still remember the conversation with Julie Branch Braun when she was selling my sister her house. "Julie, I'm thinking about doing real estate" (I actually had never thought about it before that moment). "Don't do it", said Julie (this was when the market had taken a dump for the prior couple of years).
Got licensed in 2010, and never looked back. I was naive. Didn't even know how real estate agents were compensated. Had no idea how much work it would be, and how much rejection I would face over the years.
But, I'm a grinder. Always have been. Put the problem in front of me, and I'll work through it. Been doing that for almost 14 years now and couldn't be happier with the path I chose.
