Today’s showing was unlike any other.

8810 W. 72nd Terrace hit the market, the house I grew up in and called home until I was 10 years old.

I haven’t walked through those doors in more than 30 years. Today, I got to walk back through it with my family.

I showed them the house as I remembered it, told them stories about things that happened there, and even took them down to the creek nearby where I used to play as a kid. What made it even more surreal is that Ben, my oldest, is now the same age I was when we moved from this house.

Walking through it today reminded me just how many memories we create in a home without even realizing it at the time. Birthdays, holidays, ordinary afternoons, playing with friends, family gatherings, all the little things that eventually become the stories we remember decades later.

As a Realtor, I spend so much time helping people buy and sell houses. Today was a pretty special reminder that a home is so much more than the property itself.

And because apparently I can’t walk through a house without thinking about real estate… I may or may not now be considering buying my childhood home and turning it into a rental. 😂

Not sure where that part of the story will go, but getting to walk through my childhood home again and share some of those memories with my family was something I won’t forget.
