If you're looking for a really cool place to grab a bite, have a drink and just take in the atmosphere, Go check out Crafted Artisan Meadery in Suffield. We had a great experience there on Sunday. I honestly cant say enough good things about the place, the staff, the history, the merch, the food and the meade.

We were picking up something on fb marketplace around the corner from there when we noticed it. We decided to check it out. We ordered a flight of various Meade flavors which consisted of 5 different selections of 3 ounces each. They had "Still" meades which were the heavier/more rich, more alcohol content options at room temperature and then the "Sessions" which were less alcohol content but cold and carbonated. My most favorite was the lemon ginger which is a Session meade. I also ordered a greek salad and Tim ordered a pepperoni pizza that we shared. The pizza was some of the best pizza I have ever had. The staff were wonderful. They have a whole rack of board games there, and an entire room that can be rented for special occasions and it has a shuffleboard table! There is a viewing area where you can see the stills and brewing equipment. There is a whole merch section. There are original photos of when it was a church, as well as some taken during the renovations. I believe they told usnit was condemned twice through the years. It was built in the late 1800's. It sits beside a grave yard...so thats interesting. They have a balcony section where bands play live music. (Definitely want to get our band in there to play sometime 2 Docks Down). I also saw an area where they have some tables/chairs and TV screens set up with Nintendos!!! There is also an outdoor patio with umbrellas and fun games like Jenga and Co****le. One lady had her dog on a leash there so I assume you can bring your pets in the patio area. I took tons of pics, including the menus. I would highly suggest this place if you are looking for a fun and interesting experience. We bought a couple bottles of meade to bring home. Tons of great last minute gifts ideas also. ❤️

I try to shop local when I can.. especially if it means supporting small businesses in my hometown.

Recently I gave my business to Portage Community Bank, Print & Sign Express and Kent Garage Door Company. I go to Reed Memorial Library often and I stop at other local places when we are looking for a place to hang out such as Mimi's Cafe, West Main St Winery, Guido's Pizza, White House Tavern, or English Pub & Bistro or if I am looking for a gift for someone, I use the various shops in town.

I want to make it a point to go back to places I have been to such as Books a Go Go, Sandi's Creative Corner, The Odd Collective, The Tinkerbox, and This & That New & Used Goods, Bean and the Baker, Vance’s Carriage House Creamery, etc., and make it a point to always stop in these places first when looking for something specific. I love supporting our local businesses. I love the folks behind the scenes, and connecting their hard working business to an actual face, talking to them, getting to know them more each time we meet. It gives me joy to know that I am helping to sustain local growth in my community.

Whether you are in Ravenna, like me, or not....seek out your local hometown businesses and make a conscious decision to use them first for your shopping or dining out/entertainment needs. It has a greater impact on them and our community than spending money at big box stores and national chain stores.

Now I have to go check out Montigney Hardware. I just found out about them today! 😊
