Our survey is still going on, but we wanted to share some of the interesting results we are seeing. Right now for example, 78% of respondents want to see bungalows and cottages, almost 54% are interested in townhomes, and close to 44% are in favor of garden apartments. Heading into the final few days before the Tuesday, February 21st vote, we wanted to again encourage all residents of Summerfield to take our survey on housing choices and apartment proposals. Summerfield is a town of more than 11,000 residents and fewer than 10% of the population has taken our surveys or the surveys from the other side. We want to hear from everyone! For anyone who wasn’t able to attend last week’s webinar on “What is a Text Amendment – and Why it matters” we are posting the video in its entirety below. Please do watch – it delves into a lot of the questions and comments we have been seeing about the Villages of Summerfield Farms project – including: what a Text Amendment actually means and what the process would be if it is approved, how home values might be impacted, traffic, streets, water concerns, what are vested rights and why they don’t apply to the Text Amendment, what changes have been made to the VoSF plan since last year, and more. PLEASE TAKE FIVE MINUTES AND TAKE OUR NEW SURVEY: We have been urged to put together a more comprehensive survey aimed specifically at measuring broad sentiment around housing choices, including garden-style apartments in Villages of Summerfield Farms. REMINDER - TONIGHT IS THE PLANNING BOARD MEETING AND WE NEED ALL OF OUR SUPPORTERS TO ATTEND!

WHEN IS THE MEETING: TONIGHT MONDAY, MARCH 28th 7PM

WHERE IS THE MEETING BEING HELD: Laughlin Community Center (7911 Summerfield Road)

WHY WOULD YOU COME? The Planning Board will be voting to recommend a Text Amendment District for Villages of Summerfield Farms. They will either recommend, not recommend or potentially delay in making this decision. Once they vote, the Text Amendment will elevate to the Town Council for VOTE.

Please join us THIS MONDAY EVENING - March 28th at 7PM - for the Planning Board Meeting at the Laughlin Community Center at 7911 Summerfield Road. We need our supporters to speak in favor of the OSM-V Text Amendment being approved by the Planning Board. The PB is a recommending body to the Town Council, and once they recommend, it will go to Town Council for a vote. This Text Amendment gives us the opportunity to present our Villages of Summerfield Farms rezoning to the Town of Summerfield. It gives us a pathway and district to apply for rezoning / development in the Town of Summerfield. We hope you can attend - and look forward to seeing you there!
