Strong storms are in the forecast today! Reach out for a complementary inspection if your home gets hit by the storms today or last night! 314-607-0989
We have been upgraded to a level 4 out of 5 severe risk for today. That happens for St. Louis on average once every 2 years. of course that's just average, but hopefully adds some context that this is a day to be weather aware. Very large baseball sized hail or larger, strong tornadoes (EF2-EF3+) and damaging winds 60-80+ MPH are possible this afternoon to evening, think 3pm-8pm for the prime time.
We have had some severe storms this morning including huge hail around St. Francois County and Farmington. Those storms are gone, but we continue to watch a line of storms that is slowing and stretching out across Missouri right now. There is some strong winds in Pike County MO that will be exiting soon and otherwise that line is not severe as of 9AM. But this line (or the outflow from it) will play a role in being a focus for future storms. Generally think 3pm to 8pm for later today for stronger storms.
With that in mind, be weather aware today. Have a way to get the warnings, check the radar before traveling and know where to take shelter if you need to later this afternoon to evening. Let's not be scared, be prepared.
