🚨 Government Shutdown Mortgage Update 🚨

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have issued temporary flexibilities to help borrowers, lenders, and servicers during the current federal government shutdown:

✅ Borrowers impacted by the shutdown (like federal employees) are still eligible for loans—they won’t be disqualified just because of the shutdown.
✅ Employment verification requirements are being relaxed if agencies like the IRS or SSA can’t respond in time.
✅ Flood insurance delays (from NFIP lapses) are accounted for—closings may still proceed with proper documentation.
✅ These changes are temporary and will automatically expire when the government resumes full operations.

📌 This ensures that closings can continue and borrowers aren’t penalized because of something out of their control.
