Spring! If you’re planning on over seeding your lawn, our ground temperature is almost 50 to 55 degrees; warm enough to encourage new seed growth. (Notice the Dandelions showing yellow now?)
Mow your lawn to about 1.5-2”.
Place your sprinklers out first! Don’t drag your hose across the new seed; it will create a ridge. Turn your sprinkler on first to ensure adequate coverage over desired area.
Soil to seed contact needs to happen, so use a roller and add extra dirt to fill in low spots. Rake seed in. Highly recommend covering with Peet Moss to camouflage the seed from birds.
Broadcast nitrogen fertilizer only. W**d control (or triple action) fertilizer is a pre emergent, and bad for the new seed you put down.
4-6 weeks you’ll see growth!
To maximize your results, mow the lawn very low, aerate, power rake (it will break up the plugs), rake up the moss/grass, then follow formentioned steps.
Good Vibes are coming with warmer weather. Make your lawn an outdoor carpet.
