I started raising red worms several years ago possible 5 or six years ago. I purchased 500 very tiny red worm babies to start my farm with. I had several 30 gallon salt buckets possible 3 and a similar containers from the local hardware store. I puncher several small friends holes in them and dug out a hole to set them in. I purchased w**d block screen to stop the worms from escaping. I mixed some yard dirt and leaves in each preparation. 2 were behind my shed and 2 others were place next to my house were the metal roof drained fresh rain water in. The worms population explosion was happening and I needed more places for them to grow. I went to wally world and purchased 3 plastic trays with lids and put some water and grass clipping in each and the explosion started all over again. I did quite a bit of fishing at a local farm catching brim , catfish and some very nice bass. I also had a endless supply of shredder papers in the mix. 2 years after I had several health issues and neglected worm farming and fishing for 3 years. Just this year I did a restoration of the farming project and fishing. The trays with lids still had read worms alive in them. The 2 buckets were dried up with a few typical Florida worms on the very bottom. The buckets on side of house one had a good supply of reds and some Florida crawers that I used up in for weeks of fishing. We caught several 3 lb channel catfish and quite alot of brim. Now I had purchased a new lawn mower and use the bag feature for feed for the worm beds.
