I’m seeing this everywhere. This is not 100% accurate.

There is no ‘locking buckets.’ Every inspector will go out and evaluate the original source of loss. In our state, very few carriers offer full water damage coverage. Mold coverage is usually limited, and many policies have a cap of $10,000 for mold remediation.

If you open a homeowner’s claim that is found to not be covered, the claim will be closed by your carrier with a $0 payout. However, this claim will remain on your loss history, which can affect your future premiums as well as your underwriting process if you try to switch carriers or are forced to do so due to your carrier becoming insolvent or reducing their risk exposure and non-renewing your policy.

DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING that a vendor or contractor asks you to, giving them the right to work with your insurance company on your behalf!

Rate Update: 📉 Unfortunately, rates are worse today than they were before the FED hinted at a rate cut last month. All the decreases we saw have been wiped out. 😔 The good news? Rates are still expected to trend down by the end of the year! 🔮 If anyone you know has been waiting for lower rates, please share this info with them!
