The latest Redfin report highlights a positive shift in the housing market, indicating an early rebound in homebuyer demand. Encouraged by decreasing mortgage rates and a rise in property listings, homebuyers are becoming more active. In the U.S., pending home sales experienced the smallest year-over-year decline since March 2022, dropping by 4% in the four weeks ending Dec. 24. The Redfin Homebuyer Demand Index also reported the most substantial year-over-year increase in median sale prices across the United States since October 2022, with a change of 4.5%. Active listings saw the smallest decline (-3.8%) since June.
