The most exhilarating parts of travel for me are all the ah haa moments I have along the way. I went to several museums and encountered awesome street art.

I literally had to catch my breath seeing original works by someone my favorite artists, including Niki de Saint Phalle, Picasso, Yayoi Kusama, Takashi Murakami, and several others.

Woo hoo! We made it through our first ever Typhoon 😜 After Kyoto, my son and I were supposed to go to Okinawa. Instead of lying in the sun under palm trees, we learned that there was a fierce typhoon ripping through Japan. Okinawa was off the books.

We threw a pin at the map and made our way to a small beach town near Atami in the Shizuoka prefecture. The storm did hit, (though not as bad as it did in Okinawa) I was in constant fears of a tsunami, we are staying 5m above sea level. My son kept reassuring me that two natural disasters don’t usually happen at one time 👊🏻

Clearly, we made it through and right after the heavy rains, the skies opened up & the sun was shining. These are a few photos I took of the region. It’s so green and lush with insanely beautiful hydrangeas!

It’s been amazing watching everyone’s sharing about This is the first one I’ve missed in about 15 years. This is always been a special time for me in Telluride, where I feel most grounded and so proud of where I call home. I love the mind expansion and awareness about this big marble we all live on.

It’s a special weekend for learning, growth, education and connecting with new friends and old. I love watching all of your stories, looks like I’m missing a great year, but for now, Japan is calling. xx
