The Season, The Reason

One of my followers recently asked me to create an image of a Christmas tree and a cross together, showing that He is the reason for the season. This type of image has been done before, so I almost declined....but I do realize that we all need this reminder. The holiday season can be so busy that we forget to take a moment and reflect on the Lord.. I hope that this simple image is a good encouragement for us all.

And yes, I know I'll get lit up in the comments for even making an image like this. But in my view, any time we can encourage others to stop and pause and worship the King, then its a worthy cause.

There is considerable negative commentary about the 50-year loan. I am not advocating one way or the other. I want to tell a more complete story.
Let's start with the popular thinking. The median US house price is $435,000.
On a 30-year fixed loan, at the end of 30 years, you will have paid a total of $488,406 in interest.
On a 50-year loan, you will have paid $818,694.
Both are mathematical facts.
However, the stats say that the average loan lasts 7-10 years. The house will either be sold or the loan will be refinanced.
The factor that is most often overlooked is market growth.
If you bought a home for $435,000 and the value increased by 2.5% per year, the house would be worth $517,618.96 at the end of seven years. With 5% down at the end of seven years, the loan balance would be approximately $404,390.87
Giving the buyer an equity position of about $113,228.08
Now, the question is, which is better: paying rent and saving money for seven years, or leveraging the market?
