We spend a lot of time talking with communities, elected leaders, and utility partners about energy demand and the impact of data center growth.

One question comes up often: Do data centers increase electricity rates?

A new analysis from Energy and Environmental Economics, Inc. reviewed more than 10 studies and found no consistent link between data center growth and higher consumer electricity costs.

In several cases, data centers generated surplus utility revenues that can help spread system costs across a larger customer base.

As communities plan for the future, it's important that conversations about energy are grounded in facts and data.

Built in Texas. For Texas.

Our paychecks, our hospitals, and our national security — all rely on data centers. In Texas, data centers support hundreds of thousands of jobs and generate billions in tax revenue that is funding schools, roads, and essential services in communities across the state.

Rowan's projects in Temple will deliver these benefits to our community while consuming less daily water than a typical restaurant.

Safety Week is more than just a weeklong observance in our industry. Our team in Temple shows up every single day, looking out for one another, working with care, and making safety part of everything we do.

Nothing is more important. Thank you to all our employees onsite for building these projects the right way.

Today’s announcement of nearly $3 billion in green financing for the Temple project is the strongest signal yet that transformational, long-term investment is coming to this community.

But what does "green financing" actually mean?

Rowan’s financing framework was independently reviewed by Morningstar Sustainalytics, a third-party firm that evaluates environmental standards.

They gave our framework their highest rating. Here’s why:

🌱 Financing is directly tied to projects with clear environmental benefits, like energy-efficient and low-carbon data centers

🌱 There are defined standards for selecting projects, with a structured process and oversight built in

🌱 Funds are tracked and managed with transparency, ensuring they’re used only for eligible green initiatives

🌱 Rowan commits to ongoing reporting so investors and the public can see how those funds are deployed and the impact they deliver

In other words, the label isn’t self-declared. It’s reviewed independently, and the financing is structured so that sustainability commitments are tied directly to how projects are built.

Great conversation at last week's Rotary Club of Temple meeting as community leaders came together to discuss Temple’s future, continued growth and the importance of thoughtful investment in our region. We appreciate the opportunity to listen, engage and be part of the conversation about what comes next for Temple.

Thank you to Amanda Sanders from Rowan Data Centers for briefing Rotarians on local projects.

Two years ago, when devastating tornadoes impacted Temple families, Rowan partnered with the United Way of Central Texas to support immediate and ongoing recovery efforts.

Those funds helped provide assistance with utility bills, home and building repairs, vehicle repairs, rent and mortgage payments, prescription and medical supplies, and food for neighbors facing incredibly difficult circumstances.

We believe being part of a community means showing up not only during ribbon cuttings and milestones, but during moments of hardship too.

We’re grateful to the United Way of Central Texas and all of the local organizations and volunteers who stepped up — then and now — for families across the region. Rowan remains committed to being a neighbor that stands ready to help when our communities need it most.

Rowan hosts monthly neighbor dinners to give people the opportunity to directly connect with our team, ask honest questions, and get clear and factual information about what we are building in Temple.

Thanks to all our neighbors in east Temple for coming out last night!

These meetings are a part of Rowan’s genuine commitment to being present in the community as a long-term, responsible partner here.

There's a lot of misinformation out there about water use at Rowan's data centers, so we want to explain clearly and transparently about how Rowan is protecting Temple’s valuable water resources.

Rowan’s data centers use fully closed-loop water cooling systems. About 1-2M gallons of water is added once, and recirculated within sealed equipment for more than a decade (for context, the city of Temple uses about 15-20M gallons every day).

This technology prevents a continuous draw on the city’s water supply. Additionally, our air-cooled high efficiency heat rejection system is designed to withstand extreme temperatures, including scorching Texas summers, without any additional water needed.

Any ongoing usage is limited exclusively for the health and hygiene of onsite employees, like any typical office in Temple.

For a similar project in Medina County, we achieved a 250% water offset through a partnership with the Edwards Aquifer Conservancy — in collaboration with our hyperscale partner, we're investing in their Groundwater Conservation Program which helps local farmers use far more efficient irrigation technology.

We've made the same commitment here in Temple: Our projects will be water positive. We'll share more updates on that initiative in the future.

In the meantime, read more about our water conservation plans in Temple on rowantemple.com — and learn more about what we achieved in Medina County by watching this quick video.

We loved connecting with the third grade classes at Thornton Elementary School for their Career Day! Rowan talked about what a data center is, why our community needs them, and how they're being built responsibly right here in Temple.

Data centers are portals of opportunity for Central Texas families.

From software development and farming to real estate, psychology, and so many other fields represented at this event, one thing was clear: Temple’s future is incredibly bright with the students of Temple Independent School District.

As conversations continue around these projects, it’s important to be clear about our partnership with Temple. Rowan’s i...

As conversations continue around these projects, it’s important to be clear about our partnership with Temple.

Rowan’s investment represents over $2 billion in private dollars in this community. These benefits include:

>>Immediate construction jobs
>>Long-term, stable careers with strong wages for Central Texans
>>Lucrative property tax revenue supporting local schools, infrastructure, and public safety
>>State-of-the-art infrastructure that responsibly protects water and energy resources

These are legacy projects designed to operate in Temple for decades.

Our focus is building here and being a part of the community for generations to come.
