One question comes up often: Do data centers increase electricity rates?
A new analysis from Energy and Environmental Economics, Inc. reviewed more than 10 studies and found no consistent link between data center growth and higher consumer electricity costs.
In several cases, data centers generated surplus utility revenues that can help spread system costs across a larger customer base.
As communities plan for the future, it's important that conversations about energy are grounded in facts and data.
