One of the hardest things about pony ownership is knowing when it’s time for them to teach another child.

We are too attached to Chief to consider selling him and losing control of his circumstances. So Ford made the decision to let Chief go to our very responsible and trusted family friends, who have a little boy ready to learn, so that he continues to have a purpose. A family that loves their horses the same way we do and lives only a couple miles away.

Chief has been Ford’s friend, teacher, confidence builder, and partner for years. Before that, he was the one who taught Case to ride so confidently. But the truth is, great ponies are rare, and when they’re ready to help another little rider, they deserve that opportunity too.

Watching him make such a selfless choice has made us incredibly proud.

Sometimes loving a horse means sharing them.

Go teach another little cowboy, Chief. ❤️

Happy Father’s Day to our #1. They say the most important decision you’ll ever make is who you choose to do life with. Thankful every day that we chose each other and for the life that we have built. Our kids are the luckiest boys in the world to have a dad like him.

The properties that seem to capture us horse owners usually have the same ingredients:

A beautiful home
A second residence for family or rental income
A quality barn, arena, and pastures with shelter
Usable acreage

Properties that check all those boxes don’t come along every day, which is why they’re always in demand.

This one at 8580 Warren Road in Paso Robles does just that. Message me if you’d like to take a look!

Before California became known for wine country, surfing, or Hollywood, it was cattle country.

In the early days of California, ranches stretched for miles across open land. Fences were few, cattle roamed freely, and a simple brand was often the only way to identify ownership.

In fact, cattle hides were once so valuable they were nicknamed “California banknotes” and helped drive the state’s economy long before the Gold Rush.

Today, a brand is still more than a mark. It’s history, tradition, and often a connection to generations of ranching families who helped shape California and the Central Coast we know today.

Fun Fact: California’s brand inspection system is still active today. Cattle changing ownership or moving locations require brand inspection documentation to help prevent theft and verify ownership.

Every property has a buyer. The challenge is finding the right one.

For this 160 acre San Miguel parcel, that meant thinking beyond traditional marketing and connecting directly with someone who could truly benefit from owning it.

11 days on market.
4 day escrow.
A great outcome for my seller.

If you’re trusting me to represent your property, you can count on me to leave no stone unturned.

A transaction this quick and smooth doesn’t happen without a wonderful team. Huge kudos to Kristin Arlit Mohnike fidelitycentralcoast for making this happen. I’m also hugely grateful to my colleague, Wayne Lewis, for his expertise and for taking the beautiful drone pictures that highlighted this unique parcel.

The Central Coast isn’t just a beautiful place to live. It’s a pretty great place to grow up.

When trails, beaches, ranches, lakes, and open space are all within reach, it’s easier to pull kids away from screens and into the outdoors.

We don’t take that for granted.

Moments like these are a good reminder of how lucky we are to call this place home.

The headlines don’t always tell the full story.

While every property and every town is different, these are three trends I’m seeing across San Luis Obispo County right now.

If you’re curious how these trends might affect your specific situation, feel free to reach out. I’m always happy to answer questions, whether you’re planning a move next month or just keeping an eye on the market.

If getting into the real estate market has been on your mind but feels overwhelming, you are not alone in that.

Most people do not struggle with the idea. They struggle with knowing where to start.

That is exactly what the first conversation is for. We can talk through goals, budget, options, and what actually makes sense for your situation, even if you are months or years out from doing anything.

I’m here to be a starting point for you, and no matter how far out your timeline is, it’s never too early to have that first conversation.
