As real estate professionals, we see firsthand how preparation protects not just families, but home values. A little effort now can save a lot of heartache later.

Here's a simple checklist to get you started:

✅ Review your homeowner's insurance policy — Know what's covered and what isn't. Flood damage is typically not included in a standard policy and may require separate coverage.

✅ Document your belongings — Walk through your home and video everything of value. Store it in the cloud or somewhere off-site so it's accessible if you need to file a claim.
