☘️ Downtown Street Closures for St. Patrick’s Day Parade – Saturday, March 14 ☘️
The City of Topeka and the Topeka Police Department, in partnership with the Topeka St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee, announce downtown street closures and parking restrictions for the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade this Saturday, March 14, 2026.
📍 Parade Route
The parade will begin at SW 10th Street and S. Kansas Avenue at noon, traveling south on S. Kansas Avenue to SW 7th Street, then turning west on SW 7th Street to SW Van Buren Street. The parade will disperse in the 600 block of SW Van Buren Street.
🚧 Street Closures
Street closures along the parade route will begin at 7 a.m. on March 14.
🚫 No Parking Restrictions – Beginning 3 a.m. on March 14
Parking along the parade route will be strictly prohibited. Vehicles parked in restricted areas after this time will be towed at the owner’s expense by the Topeka Police Department and Heartland Recovery.
No Parking Areas Include:
• SW Jackson Street from SW 12th Street to SW 10th Street
• SW 11th Street from SW Jackson Street to S. Kansas Avenue
• S. Kansas Avenue from SW 11th Street to SW 6th Street
• SW 7th Street from SE Quincy Street to SW Van Buren Street
• SW Van Buren Street from SW 7th Street to SW 6th Street

🏙️ Downtown Access
While the parade route will be closed to vehicle traffic, downtown businesses will remain open and accessible to pedestrians throughout the event.
🚗 Parking Tip
Residents and visitors are encouraged to park outside the parade route or utilize downtown parking garages the evening before the event on Friday, March 13.
The Topeka Police Department appreciates the public’s cooperation in helping keep the parade route clear and ensuring a safe and enjoyable St. Patrick’s Day Parade for the community.
