Well… that was weird 😂😭🤣😭😭

I sat down to catch up on some real estate social media posts and somewhere along the way I randomly started crying. And laughing. And then laughing because I was crying. Completely out of nowhere. I felt crazy.

But maybe not really. The last several months have been A LOT.

A lot of long days, late nights, miles driven, problems solved, plans changed, deals saved, deals lost, houses packed, houses unpacked, and more stress than I probably let myself realize at the time.

I think when you’re in the middle of it, you just keep moving. There’s always another phone call to make, another problem to solve, another person counting on you to figure out what comes next.

And somewhere in all of that, I got really attached to these people and their stories.

I felt their excitement. Their disappointment. Their anger. Their relief. I worried when they worried. I celebrated when they celebrated. And when things got hard, I think I carried more of it with me than I realized.

These last few months taught me a lot, too. About this business. About people. About myself.

I learned that people aren’t always who you thought they were. Sometimes that realization is disappointing. And sometimes… they turn out to be so much more.
There was a whole lot of hard work, sweat, stress, aches and pains, some absolutely ridiculous situations, and a few lessons I probably could’ve lived without learning firsthand 😂

But I guess it just hit me. It’s done.

Every client I was fighting for made it to the other side. The last one is wrapped up. And for the first time in a long time, there isn’t another fire waiting for me tomorrow morning.

The timing couldn’t be better because I’m officially heading into my vacation month. Minnesota and Michigan are calling, and I am READY 🏕️🌲❤️

I’m ready to unplug a little. Rest. Have some fun. Let my brain stop negotiating real estate deals in its sleep.

But the funny part? I haven’t even left yet, and I’m already excited to come back.
Because after everything these last several months taught me, I know exactly what I want to take with me into the next chapter… and what I’m perfectly happy leaving behind.

So I’m going to enjoy September.

And then? I’m hitting the GO button 💚 Fresh energy. Fresh perspective.
…Maybe even a little gravel road under my new tires 😉😉

🏡 SOLD | 8465 Valley View 🔑

🥹 We actually closed on this one a few weeks ago, and now I’m glad I waited to post about it.

I recently got to watch old home videos of my sellers building this house with their own two hands. Not just picking finishes or watching it go up… actually building the home where they would go on to raise their family… and then those kids would go on to raise their families.

I watched them stack bricks and move dirt. I watched little kids running around a house that was still becoming home. I watched years of their lives in a place that was incredibly hard for them to let go of.

😭 And then I thought about everything they went through trying to sell it.
They led with their hearts from the beginning. They gave grace, made accommodations, extended patience and tried to make things work for people, sometimes at a very real cost to themselves. And unfortunately, that kindness wasn’t always rewarded.

There were disappointments. There were situations that were downright unbelievable. There was a deal they bent over backwards to hold together that ultimately fell apart.

So we picked up the pieces, went back to market, and started again.

And this time? SOLD. CLOSED. DONE ❤️ And we were all so grateful for the absolute right people that came along with an outstanding offer.

Watching those videos reminded me that I didn’t just sell a house. I helped a family close the door on a home they built, a home that raised their family right alongside them, and a chapter of their lives that can never really be measured in square footage or a sales price.

This one was hard to sell for a whole lot of reasons. The beauty, quality, and possibilities this home had to offer... wasn't one of them.

But I’m incredibly grateful they trusted me to see it through. Wishing each of them peace, happiness, love, and an amazing future ahead of them 🏡❤️

🥳🇺🇸🏡 CLOSING DAY 🏡🇺🇸🥳

🥹 These guys… I was working with Joe when I started licensing school. He always told me that one day, when he and his lady were ready, he’ll call me to buy their first home. I just thought he was being nice.

…Until about 60 days ago when I got that call!!

You just never know when people are going to show up and show you just how loyal they are, how much they trust you, and how much of an impression you left on them.

The task of helping my friends plant their roots into something of their own was not lost on me. With great power comes great responsibility. I’m not sure there was a better home out there for them. Trust me… we looked 😉😉

😂 Remember this girl?? The Realtor on a mission to find her clients' dream home with quick access to their favorite golden arches?? Welp... she delivered.

🍟 My very happy clients are now within 1.6 miles of the only McDonald's in town.

All jokes aside... this buy/sell coming to an end is melting my heart a bit 🥹 Someone was watching my career grow, quietly from the sidelines. When a new home was something that was on their radar, she and her husband reached out with some questions. However, she was upfront with me that they probably intended to go with a more well-known brokerage.

We got together anyway... after 10 years or so. I came to her house. Met the family. Got licked to death by the dogs. And to my surprise, I got the gig. We jammed out, we packed, we painted, we whined over the blazing summer heat back pain. It was a great reunion. We may now be trauma-bonded by the whirlwinds these transactions put us through, but we came out alive and I'm so grateful that they picked me to help them through this transition.

I also have to give a shout-out to the manager at the Martinsville McDonald's - Jasmine (spelling?). In a moment's notice, she agreed to help me put together a special gift for my people - making them honorary crew members and favorite customers for LIFE!! 🥰🍔🍟

🏡 SOLD & CLOSED 🔑🎉

We came onto the market with a fun game of DUCK-DUCK-PORCH GOOSE - an open house with another listing down the street. It was a blast AND we secured a buyer!

Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned. Our buyer lost THEIR buyer and we had to start all over again. But we dusted ourselves off and got another offer rather quickly!

My sellers handled every curveball like absolute champs - kept pushing when they were already exhausted and falling apart. A lot of work went into getting this home to the finish line, but WE GOT HERE!! 🏁🏡

🏡 THE GRAND OLD LADY IS OFFICIALLY THEIR HOME. 🥹🔑

I'm not even sure "congratulations" feels big enough for this one. This family has been through the absolute WRINGER trying to get here!

While putting their own home on the market and having to find a new buyer after the first one fell through... they were fighting like hell to make it work with their dream home (or so they thought). Through circumstances none of us saw coming, we had to walk away and start all. over. again.

As buyers. As sellers. While packing, moving, working, parenting, negotiating, repairing, appraising, and trying to keep their sanity somewhere in the mix 😵‍💫

The emotional AND physical toll was a lot.

We had to navigate sketchy agents, even sketchier sellers, contractors ghosting us left and right, deals going sideways, and a few moments where I'm pretty sure all of us wondered if somebody was about to get taken to the "train station." 🤠🚂

But here's the part I love...

What felt like losing their dream home was actually making room for the right one. Because then came "The Grand Old Lady." ❤️

A beautiful old soul built in 1893, full of character, history, and everything they needed for their family. Suddenly, things felt different. The house felt right. The agent on the other side was a breath of fresh air. There was no e-coli in their water. It finally felt like a little bit of that good karma had found its way back around.

I cannot think of a family more deserving of getting to turn that key in the door to this home. She was just waiting for them.

Sometimes the house you fight the hardest for isn't the one you were meant to have. Sometimes getting pushed (hard) off the path is exactly how you end up where you were supposed to be.

Welcome to "The Grand Old Lady." She was worth the detour.

🏡✨ ASK... AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE! ✨🏡

My first-time homebuyers felt like they had seen everything on the market, and the house hunt was starting to lose its sparkle. 🥵

So I decided to make a Facebook post with their wishlist... 🤞📲 AND I GOT A BITE!! 🎣 A FSBO seller reached out. 🙌

Now we're UNDER CONTRACT on this beautiful Beech Grove home! 🎉🔑❤️

Even better? This has been one of the smoothest transactions I've ever had. 🤯 The seller has been amazing to work with, the inspection was a breeze ✅, and now we're just waiting on the appraisal. 🏡📋➡️ Closing table, here we come! 🎊

If FSBOs scare you... maybe it's time to rethink that. 😉 They might just surprise you. 💙🏠

🏡 PENDING | The Grand Old Lady

Some homes are built. And then some homes are rooted.

This Grand Old Lady has stood for well over a century, watching the world change from her front porch one season at a time.

Her neighborhood became part of a Historic District, an area known for its beautiful old Queen Anne, Free Classic, and Colonial Revival homes. Back in her town's mineral-springs days, it was tied to a bustling chapter of local history, when people came from all over for rest, healing, and a little small-town Indiana magic.

If her walls could talk, I imagine they’d have plenty to say. Stories of Sunday dinners, muddy boots, quiet prayers, hard seasons, new beginnings, and generations of people who called her home.

Now she’s pending, and another eager family is waiting at her door, full of butterflies and their souls excited to be a part of her story.

Congratulations to the sellers and to my buyers who get to become the next caretakers of this beautiful old girl. ❤️

The Grand Old Lady isn’t done telling stories yet.
(And neither am I... stay tuned...)
