Call me “old-fashioned," but I’m seeing more and more agents in Northeast San Antonio using AI to automate selling homes. And while I appreciate what technology can do, there's just some things AI should never replace.

Like what happens when you call a business.

An actual person should answer the phone. Not a bot asking you to "listen to the menu options, as they may have changed, so they can direct your call." 😉

At least, that's what I think.

Which is why I’m making this PSA: when you call (210) 601-7629, you won’t get a bot. You’ll get me. A real person, ready to pick up the phone and help.

Because in a world moving more and more towards automation and advancing
technology, I believe some things should stay the same. Like talking to an actual person when you call a business.

- Stefanie

P.S. I know some businesses use an automated line for different reasons. I understand. I’m just saying I won't! In the real estate business, some things must remain personal. 😊

Here’s a hot take that is bound to ruffle some feathers…

Realtors are not required to buy or sell real estate. 🫣

Yep. I said it.

And honestly the industry needs to stop acting like that’s not true. Many agents act like not using a Realtor is guaranteed to be a disaster every single time. That simply is not always the case.

You do not legally need me.
You do not have to hire an agent.
You absolutely can do it yourself.

Realtors are not a necessity.
Realtors are a service.
A strategy.
A buffer.
An experienced problem-solver when things go sideways.

But, we are not a requirement.

If you want to FSBO your house, you absolutely can.
If you want to buy direct, you have every right.
If you want to take it all on yourself…I genuinely hope it goes smoothly for you.

But also…don’t confuse “not required” with “not valuable.”

Because when things do get complicated (and they often do 😬), that’s where the right agent earns every dollar of what they’re paid.

The truth is, the best agents aren’t afraid to say you don’t need them. Because we know when you choose us, it’s for a reason.

If you do want guidance, strategy, or someone fighting for you when things get tricky…I’m here. If not? I still hope your deal goes smoothly and you win.

People who really know me know that I love a good cup of coffee. And I know most people say that, but I really mean it.

Anytime someone wants to meet with me (friends, family, or clients), I try to find a new coffee shop to go to. Because let’s be clear: not all coffee shops are created equal. I feel like there is a time and place for each spot. Some coffee shops are great for sitting down and getting some work done on your laptop, others are great for meeting with a friend and talking about the latest happenings in your life, and others are great for grabbing a quick treat when you’re on the go!

So, I was quite thrilled to find a new spot (that I loved) when I stopped at Pan & Coffee. It’s quickly become one of my favorite spots in the heart of Stone Oak.

Now this is going to sound silly, but I need you to just trust me: their yogurt parfaits are a whole new level of amazing. I know this is a menu item that you’d think you could easily duplicate at home, but I’ve tried over a dozen times, and I just can’t do it the way they do it. Theirs are just so stinkin’ good, and I don’t know what the magic is behind it all.

Now, if we’re talking drinks (because, let’s be real: it’s a coffee shop), then you have to go with a tried-and-true vanilla latte. Sounds basic, but the vanilla latte from Pan & Coffee just hits different. Once again, you’re just going to have to trust me on this one! It’s the perfect pick-me-up that I need in the afternoon to keep going.

And like I said before: every coffee shop serves a purpose. This spot has crafted a perfect atmosphere. It’s right in Stone Oak, which makes it easy to pop in and out for me, or stay and work a bit, too.

If you haven’t tried Pan & Coffee, I highly recommend it. And no, they aren’t paying me to say this—I just truly love this little spot. Who knows? Maybe I’ll see you there next time... and if you do, please come say hi to me!

Okay, everyone expects “fancy” restaurants to have good food. But what’s a non-fancy place here in Northeast San Antonio that has amazing food?

You will know your kids as adults far longer than you’ll know them as children. If you’re lucky, you’ll know your kids for about 50 years. Your kids will only be “kids” for about ten of those fifty years. That means 80% of the time you’ll ever have with your kids, they’re not “kids.”

You only get:
1 summer with them as a baby
3 as a toddler
5 as a child
3 as a pr***en
6 as a teen

Enjoy it while it lasts. Don’t waste those years. ❤️

Oh, and one more thing…if you're looking for the perfect house to make your memories in my cell is (210) 601-7629.

Let's talk.

This spring has flown by and I’ve forgotten to update my friends and family. Here’s a little recap from the McCarty family:

1. I went to College Station to meet my best friend’s new baby!

2. We “spring breaked” at Folly Beach with my parents and Brady did SO good on his first airplane ride - he loved it! We had a lot of fun on the beach and hanging out with my parents in the Airbnb.

3. I had 10 closings in the last few months. It was great being able to help so many amazing families.

4. One of my sweet friends is getting married… In Italy! I’m so bummed we aren’t able to attend (Brady did great on his first flight, but selfishly I don’t want to travel THAT far with a 2-year-old) but we celebrated with her and threw a beautiful shower here.

5. Speaking of 2-year-olds, Brady is two. We’ve had lots of backyard sandbox play time with the Little Man - thanks Yaya for getting it for him.

6. Lia and I threw one of our clients a housewarming party. We had a hibachi dinner at their new home. I’m so thankful to call one of my coworkers my “best friend." The way we’re able to shower our clients with fun memories is priceless.

7. We dyed Easter eggs and, of course, went to church with some of our favorite people. Brady ALMOST made it through church without screaming. You might ask, “What was his final straw?” Homeboy wanted a donut - haha! A kid after my own heart.

8. Lastly, we had a date night and saw Nate Bargatze. It was so much fun to see him in person - he really does put on a great show and it was so funny!

The last few months have been busy but they’ve been filled with new memories with some of our favorite people. We are blessed!
