Despite what you'll hear from a lot of industry professionals right now, it might actually NOT be a good time to sell. Here are few reasons it might not be the ideal time for YOU to list your home:
π You LOVE your home.
π You've owned your home for a few years and you KNOW you've got lots of equity built up. You could cash your equity in and move up to new house with a lot of leverage, if you wanted to. But you don't want to. Then don't! Call up your fav local lender and chat about what else you could do with that equity!
π You LOVE your neighborhood.
π Having a quality neighborhood is more impactful on quality of life then we sometimes realize. Maybe you have access to great walking trails, your favorite coffee shop is a quick bike ride down the street, you enjoy hanging out front with your neighbors, but your kitchen is dated and cramped. Sure a big shiny new kitchen might be wonderful, but what about those intangibles? Is a kitchen remodel possible? Perhaps you can fix some inconveniences to keep loving where you live.
π There is some job uncertainty in your near future.
π When you know there's a potential for a major shift in finances (either up or down) the stress of that is enough. Having some patience to see what impacts you may face could be wise. Job shifts can be major transition seasons and the same for moving. If you know this is on the horizon for you and you are itching to make a move, try to pause and take these changes one at time if you can.
πββοΈ I know what you're thinking. "Ari, isn't it bad for business to tell people not to sell right now?"
What's really bad for business is unhappy and unnecessarily stressed out clients. I want my people to feel good about their choices and I want you to know I will always have your best interests in heart.
But hey, if you don't love your house, your hood, and you're feeling good about your finances, let's chat! I would love to help you love where you live!
