International Virtual Assistants Day is personal for me.
I started as a virtual assistant. No fancy title. Just a woman who heard God's direction, said yes, and trusted that He would handle the rest.
That season shaped everything. I learned how to manage competing priorities without losing my footing. How to support executives at the highest level without losing my own voice. How to build systems that actually worked, for my clients and for my business. I was learning operational thinking before I even had the language for it.
Over time, that work evolved into something I could not have mapped out on a whiteboard: operations management, project management, executive-level administrative partnership. Today, DHAS delivers the kind of strategic, high-level support that organizations need to function well and grow with intention.
I would not be here without that first chapter.
Being a virtual assistant was not a phase to outgrow. It was the foundation everything else was built on, and if that is where you are right now, I need you to understand that the work you are doing matters more than your title suggests. The discipline you are building, the relationships you are managing, the systems you are quietly putting in place, that is all going somewhere. Do not minimize it.
Whether you are freelancing solo, embedded in a corporate team, or somewhere in between, today is for you. Your work is not invisible. It is the work that keeps everything running.
Happy International Virtual Assistants Day. You deserve to be celebrated.
