Spring cleaning, but make it meaningful 🤍📄

I’m currently organizing a community shredding event — a way to responsibly and respectfully handle my dad’s client files, while also creating something that gives back locally.

This is about:
🔒 protecting people’s information
🤝 bringing the community together
🌿 doing something good with something that needed to be done

We’re currently looking for:
• volunteers
• local partners / sponsors
• anyone who wants to be part of making this happen

This time of year feels a little different for our family.

Spring was always one of my dad’s busiest seasons — deep in the middle of tax work, helping clients, staying focused, and still somehow making time for all of us.

He had a way of balancing it all. Taking care of people wasn’t just his work, it was who he was.

He would still make sure we got out for Easter dinner, a fish fry here and there, and he never missed celebrating my mom’s birthday. Those moments meant a lot.

He was a provider in every sense of the word — steady, dedicated, and always showing up.

He’s deeply missed, especially during times like this. But we’re taking things one day at a time and doing our best to stay grounded and move forward.

Just feeling grateful for the memories and the example he set 🤍

Something really cool just happened.

One of our neighbors—who’s a home inspector—stopped by and offered to take a look at the house and share some guidance.

He also left behind something really helpful—a simple checklist he gives his clients when hiring contractors.

Things like:
• Interviewing multiple contractors
• Asking for proof of insurance
• Checking past client references
• Getting everything in writing

It might seem basic, but when you’re starting a project like this, having clear guidance makes a big difference.

This is exactly what I meant by making this a community project.

It’s already starting to come together in ways I didn’t expect.
