Friends of Lafayette-Pointer Park Family Clean-up Day - Saturday, 9-12 pm

Here is how *you* can help:
✅Show up on Saturday, November 22nd anytime from 9am – 12pm
✅Stay for an hour or stay for 3 hours
✅Bring gardening clippers (if you have them) rakes, gardening gloves, wagon or wheelbarrow
✅Trash bags will be provided
✅Community service hours are available, bring your approval sheet
✅Kids are welcome but under 15 need adult supervision
✅We’ll pick up trash, rake leaves, clear brush, cut back bushes, ivy, etc.
✅Donate money to FOLP if you can’t join us: http://thefolp.org/membership/
✅Encourage your friends and neighbors to join us as many any hands make light work

The annual Chevy Chase DC Day celebration will be held at the Chevy Chase Commons area on the grounds of the Library and the Community Center and nearby on Connecticut Avenue. This year’s event is being organized by the Chevy Chase Community Association - with the support of community organizations such as Main Street and ANC 3/4G. It will take place on Saturday, Sept. 20 from 1- 4 pm and will include the following free events.

Face painting, balloon twisting, a juggler, a caricature artist, a bounce house, plus other activities
Chevy Chase Artists (Ch/Art) kids’ art activity
Special events include dance performance by Ballet Elite (2 pm), martial arts demonstration by Infinity Martial Arts (3 pm), Zumba with Ashley (2 pm), and a fencing event by the Chevy Chase Fencing Club
New: Presentation by Civil War reenactor and historical interpreter - Marquett Milton (3:30 pm)
Free ice cream, popcorn, and other snacks
Sidewalk sale at Child’s Play Toys & Books
Kids can explore a police car and big rig firetruck
Dylan Lizza Quartet will provide music
Ward 3 Councilmember Matt Frumin and Ward 4 Councilmember Janeese Lewis George (1:30 – 2:00 pm)
