Katelyn Hiller, Can you please discuss with management the dangers and legal aspects of dogs being off leashes. Historically, it has been a supported but unenforced policy. It is now become commonplace for people in the surrounding neighborhoods to bring their dogs (off-leash) to run on the property (recently sold by the tax court) surrounding the Loree Grand. Two cases specifically are; (1). The owner of Metro Mutts bringing his and his wife's two dogs here to run loose. and, (2). A neighbor a 30's (maybe) black gentleman who has a very large black pit bull.
I'm terrified of Pit Bulls and this dog ran towards and jumped on me the other day when I was walking my two dogs. As most everyone knows I keep mine on leashes to comply with building policy, the law of the city, and fulfill my obligations to both and to accept responsibility and accountability for my loved canine family members. Ceylie, has an anxiety about some dogs and he generally has a bouncing and barking fit when he sees others. I was so afraid I was going to be mauled or my dogs were going to either be seriously injured or killed by this huge dog. I have come to learn, that my concern is not the only one but mine is the only one that is left disregarded even after being communicated through legal counsel.
Would you please, on behalf of all tenants, work with management in enforcing the leash polices of our lease and the laws of our city. I believe all us tenants would benefit from a letter from management denouncing pets off leashes and outlining steps which will be taken for violations and repeated violations to include monetary penalties (I would suggest a first offense penalty be $50-$100). I know this matter is one of public safety for that of both the owner and the pet. It serves everyone and our pets better than well.
I appreciate all your kind efforts in this matter.
