🏡 The home where former President JFK met his wife, Jackie, for the very first time!

Jennifer Kalis of The Signing Group of Compass Real Estate.

[TRANSCRIPT & VISUAL DESCRIPTION]:

I’m here in the neighborhood of Georgetown, in Washington, D.C. Today, we will be touring this home. It is currently listed at $1.7 million dollars.

What makes this home so special? This home is where Former President John F. Kennedy, met his wife Jackie for the first time!

John and Jackie met at this house in 1951. They met through a friend who invited them both here to meet each other.

They had supper, drank wine, & played some games. In total there was
six people at the get together and they had an amazing time.

Back in 1950s, this home was much smaller. As a matter of fact, the owners were able to eventually expanded the house to their neighbor’s home.

Back when they met the house was a very narrow row home. Wow, it was very small!

When they expanded the home, they tore down the brick dividing wall between the homes. They used the old bricks to build their brand new garage. Isn’t that nice!

Thanks so much for tuning in, on this spectacular house tour! Wow! This home
is very historic!

I recently learned that this home was on the market for a very brief time, is now Under Contract, for more than
$1.7 million dollars. Wow!

Visual Description: Jennifer Kalis of The Signing Group of Compass is wearing a black jacket, black pants and a colorful green scarf. She is standing in a cute alleyway in the middle of Georgetown, DC. Then she takes you to the front of the home where former president JFK and his wife, Jackie, met for the first time. The row home is a red brick home with black shutters. There is a For-Sale sign above the front door. It is a cloudy day and it looks like it just rained. There are videos that pop up from time to time to show what the inside of the house looked like. It is a small row home and has a fireplace, a blue couch and yellow chairs in the living room. Also there is in lime green and there is The Signing Group logo and the Compass Logo on the bottom left of the screen.

I’m here in Carmel-by-the-Sea in California. This town is famously known as "Dog's heaven on Earth." (Rated the #1 Dog Friendly Town in America) It is truly a beautiful town.

This place has some interesting facts.

There are no street addresses. Why? Because, they encourage neighbors to mingle at the local Post Office. Interesting!

There are no street lights. Because, the city founders decided that they didn’t want their city to be polluted with lights as many of the neighboring cities were. So they encourage you to bring a flashlight, and experience what it was like "pre-Edison" days!

Ice cream is not allowed to be sold or eaten. Because, when an ice cream scoop is spilled it would leave a sticky & gooey mess. The city founders didn’t want that.

However, there is good news! Clint Eastwood the former mayor reverted the law. Now, we are able to enjoy ice cream in this town!

High heels are prohibited. Why? Because of the unstable pavement. Which are caused by tree roots. Luckily, you are able to attend the city hall, to sign a waiver, then you are able to wear high-heels.

There are no chained restaurants. Because, they want to promote local restaurants. As a matter of fact there are more than sixty local restaurants in this town. Which exceeds the rest of the world by Per Capita. And, this town is the same size as London, England! Imagine that!

Visual Description: Elizabeth is standing on the beach at Carmel-by-the-Sea in California. It is dusk, right before sunset. The beach waves are on the right side of Elizbeth and on the left side it is sandy. Behind her, in the distance, are a few homes and a lot of trees on a small mountain. Elizabeth is wearing a black short sleeve shirt and she has curly red hair. On the video, on the top right there is the Signing Group and Compass Logo. The Signing Groups logo is a photo of a house with a hand inside the house.

- Movie "Sleepless in Seattle" House Boat in Lake Union, Seattle

Elizabeth Kalis-McGuire of The Signing Group of Compass Real Estate.

[TRANSCRIPT & VISUAL DESCRIPTION]:
--
I’m here in Gas Works Park in Seattle, Washington.

*points at the location*
The house is located over there.

The movie filmed here became famous in 1993. The movie is called “Sleepless in Seattle”

Starring Tom Hanks & Meg Ryan. The two actors only spent roughly two minutes filming on the same screen together, imagine that!

The houseboat was chosen because of It’s 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and it’s 2,000 square feet, approximately.

It was the largest houseboat also known as floating house on Lake Union.

This home was on the market most recently in 2014 and it sold for $2 million dollars.

Visual Description: Elizabeth is standing in front of Lake Union in Seattle Washington. She is a caucasian woman with red curly hair. She is wearing a black shirt and sunglasses. The sky is blue and there is a big lake behind her. There is land beyond the lake and you can see hills with trees, houses and boats docked next to the land. Also, on the left side there are cranes in the background and there is the famous Seattle Space Needle in the distance. Elizabeth is sharing about the boathouse that was used in the movie "Sleepless in Seattle." The houseboat is in the distance so there is a photo of the house that pops up during the explanation. The houseboat is a tan house that is two floors. It has dormers, windows and doors all around it. It brings in a lot of natural light to the boathouse. There is a large deck around the house that is decorated with red and pink flowers and the deck has a ladder on it that goes into Lake Union.
We also have a photo of the two lead actors from the movie, Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, that pops up for a few seconds. Tom Hanks is a caucasian man with curly brown hair and brown eyes. Meg Ryan is a caucasian woman who has a mix of blond and brown straight hair and the hair would be considered short as it is above her neck. She has blue eyes and red lipstick.
A photo of the houseboat pops up on the screen again and this time it is a closer photo of the home. You can see the tan siding and the many windows of the home. There are red flowers on the deck and there is a table for two people to use on the deck.

Hi everyone!

We want to discuss about the COVID-19. It’s new to everyone. We are still adjusting everyday. It’s full of “unknown”. We are in this together!

The Signing Group want to let you know…

Our community is our ultimate priority because we care!

We have decided to do the following steps to protect our community!

We are ahead of the game!

Thankful for the technology these days.

We have already been doing most of things remotely.

We do our contracts & offers electronically. All are secured!

We already have several methods of video access: VideoPhone; Glide; Marco Polo; Zoom; and FaceTime just to name a few.

We will continue meet with our Buyers and Sellers remotely.

Initial meetings will be conducted remotely. Same for all meetings throughout transactions. As for home inspections, it’s preferred and suggested to allow home inspector to attend alone and we will receive; meet and discuss the inspection report together afterwards. Unless, it’s truly necessary the buyer may attend the inspection but strictly abide the social distance with 6 feet; etc. Now, as for the settlements, agents and lenders will attend remotely. Buyers & Sellers will attend settlements separately. Keep in mind, things can change on a daily basis as we go though this crisis. There are more throughout the transaction as these are just an example.

We are sure you are all wondering about the showings, we will conduct virtual showings only for safety of our community!

Until, the buyer is in love & serious about the property then we will work together closely involving all parties: listing agent; sellers; buyers; ourselves to ensure that we are in compliance. There will be strict criteria conducting 6 feet social distance; no handshaking; hand washing; clean doorknobs; and sellers are encouraged to clean throughly after any showings. This is not the only criteria we are following, those are just to name a few.

No open houses will be held until further notice. Virtual open houses is an option. We have done this before.

We are in compliance with CDC; National Association of Realtors (NAR) regulations and ensure we are following the protocols.

Stay healthy! We care!
