A first for Nuvaya. One that belongs entirely to our staff.
Newsweek has named Nuvaya, formerly known as Samaritan Inns, one of America’s Best Residential Addiction Treatment Centers for 2026.
We are ranked #2 in Washington, D.C., and #17 in the South region.

What makes this particularly meaningful to me is that we didn't apply, nominate ourselves, or even know we were under consideration.
The Newsweek rankings are produced in partnership with Statista through an independent evaluation process that considers recommendations from addiction treatment professionals, accreditation and service data, and patient experience. Professionals are not permitted to recommend their own employer.
In other words, this wasn't something we were looking for. It found us. And, while we appreciate the recognition, we are much prouder of what it represents.
Every day, our staff show up for people at some of the most difficult moments of their lives. They do demanding, sometimes exhausting, and too-often-unseen work. They care. They persist. And they keep believing even when it's hard.
I am especially grateful that this recognition shines a light on them.
To everyone at Nuvaya and to everyone who helped build Samaritan Inns over nearly 40 years and brought us to this moment: thank you.
We still have a great deal of work ahead of us and many more people to serve. But every once in a while, it is worth pausing to recognize what this team has accomplished.
From the impossible, we see miracles.
