Pre-war homes often offer craftsmanship, character and flexible spaces that newer construction cannot easily recreate.

In this episode of Selling DC, J.P. tours a 1917 Park View/Petworth row home and explores the architectural details and lifestyle features that make it distinctive.

From the welcoming front porch and inlaid wood floors to the enclosed rear living space, private balcony and full-footprint lower level, this home offers something special on every floor.

Watch the full episode and let us know which space you would make your own.

A great home isn't always a bigger home.

One of the most overlooked features when buying a condominium is space planning. This Adams Morgan studio uses a simple architectural separation between the kitchen and living spaces to make the home feel significantly larger and more functional than its footprint suggests.

Sometimes, the smartest design decisions are also the simplest.

Not every renovation needs a demolition crew.

In this Selling DC episode, JP shares one of the most valuable lessons we share with clients...focus on the improvements that create the biggest impact.

For this Alexandria townhouse, thoughtful finishes transformed the hall bath — without changing the layout or undertaking an expensive full renovation.

Smart renovations aren't about spending more. They're about spending wisely.

One of the biggest renovation myths is that every room needs to be completely gutted.

They don't.

We recently transformed a townhouse in Alexandria that had been a rental for years. The hall bath wasn't beyond saving — it just wasn't helping the home. Instead of tearing everything apart, we focused on the changes that mattered most.

A new shaker-style vanity. Fresh paint. Updated hardware. Modern lighting. A new mirror. Thoughtful finishes that tied everything together.

The footprint stayed exactly the same. But the room felt brighter, cleaner, more current — and much more inviting.

That's one of my favorite parts of renovation consulting. Helping clients understand where to invest, where to save, and how to create the biggest impact without spending money where they don't need to.

Sometimes the smartest renovation isn't the biggest one. It's the one that changes how the home feels.

Awards are never really about the ranking.

They’re about families like Rob and Paula, who trusted us to help them sell their longtime home and begin a new chapter closer to their children.

With thoughtful preparation and a strategic approach, their home received multiple offers and sold in just five days. Even better, we helped them find their beautiful new home in Kensington.

Being recognized by RealTrends as a Top 1.5% of Real Estate Professionals is an honor—but helping our clients navigate life's biggest transitions is the recognition that matters most.

Thank you to every client who trusts us with your next chapter.

Price is only one part of the story. The more important question is...

What kind of life will your home help you live?

In this episode of Selling DC, JP tours 3 very different condominiums across the DMV — from an efficient studio in Adams Morgan, to a spacious Hill East penthouse, to a luxury Arlington residence with spectacular monument views.

Each home offers something different. The right choice isn't about finding the "best" condo.

It's about finding the one that fits your life.

Awards are never really about the number.

They’re about people like Sara and Scott, who were searching for their first home together and needed something rare — character, room to grow, outdoor space, and long-term potential in a competitive close-in market.

The right home wasn’t publicly listed.

We found it through Compass’ private inventory, helped them see past the needed updates, negotiated strategically when another buyer stepped back, and now we’re helping guide the renovation that will turn it into the home they envisioned from the start.

That’s the work behind this recognition.

Thank you to our clients for allowing us to help them write their next chapters.

If you’re wondering whether the right opportunity might be waiting off-market, we’d love to help you find it.

We all love a good weekend DIY, but when it comes to electricity, some things are best left to the pros. 🛑⚡️

While painting a room is a great weekend project, messing with your wiring can lead to serious safety hazards, code violations, or costly damage.

According to the experts at MarthaStewart.com, here are 8 electrical tasks you should NEVER do yourself:

1️⃣ Rewiring & Adding Outlets
2️⃣ Circuit Breaker Issues
3️⃣ Installing Dimmer Systems
4️⃣ Smart Home/Energy Setup
5️⃣ Full Home Renovations
6️⃣ Fixing Flickering Lights or Surges
7️⃣ Large Installations (EV chargers, hot tubs, etc.)
8️⃣ Electrical Work in Wet/Damp Areas

Protect your home and your safety—always hire a licensed electrician! 🛠️
