Protecting and preserving your hearing is important at any age, but especially as a senior adult. Hearing is central to the way we interact with others. It’s common to assume hearing loss as we age is a natural part of the process. However, hearing loss can be effectively prevented and managed if the signs are recognized and treated.👂

Our Connecting Realities Memory Support Programming is an approach that bridges the gap between our reality and the reality of those with cognitive challenges like dementia and Alzheimer’s. 🩵

Our staff goes through in-depth training while caring for residents with dementia. One of the most impactful trainings we offer is Embodied Labs. Embodied Labs is an immersive virtual reality technology used for staff to experience what dementia is like firsthand. Staff experience a “first-person” perspective of what someone with cognitive challenges can experience through vision, sound, and physical feel.

Are you looking for ways to make a meaningful difference in your community? Consider volunteering with The Ohio Masonic Communities Resource Center! 🙌

Our volunteers serve as the eyes and ears of their communities, often recognizing needs before they become larger concerns. They may make referrals, check in with older members, provide transportation, and assist with everyday tasks that support safety and independence.

Volunteer support may look like:
🚗 Providing rides to appointments, shopping, or Lodge and Chapter events
🌳 Helping with yard work, light home maintenance, errands, or meal delivery
😊 Offering companionship through visits, calls, or shared activities
📞 Making referrals when additional support is needed

Supporting People Reinvesting In Good (SPRIG) is a resident-led volunteer and fundraising program that empowers our residents to make a lasting impact within their own communities. 🙌

Throughout the year, SPRIG volunteers host a variety of fundraising events, including flower sales, bake sales, Festivals of Trees and Wreaths, and other community celebrations. These events not only bring residents and community members together, but also create opportunities to give back in meaningful ways. The best part is that 100% of the funds raised remain at the campus where they were generated, directly supporting projects, programs, and enhancements that benefit fellow residents and enrich the community they call home. 🏡
