As you may know, the “stone walls,” shelf and brackets in my foyer are all faux painted by hand. I designed and painted them myself three years ago (the Summer my Mom passed away 🥲) and I’ve been searching for something perfect for this one last spot on the wall ever since.

I recently found it on Facebook Marketplace and drove all the way to Doylestown, Pennsylvania to pick it up on Friday: a beautifully hand-carved wooden relief sculpture of a crown and acanthus leaves, custom framed and perfectly sized for the space. 🌿👑🌿

I just finished hanging it, so it’s incredibly appropriate that I added this finishing touch today, on Mother’s Day.🌷✨💖✨💕

Now “The Royal Gallery“ 🖼️ here at Castle Cottage is complete! ✨💖✨👑💕

We had a really great run. I love our Phillies to the bitter end‼️❤️⚾️❤️ Yes, it was a truly heartbreaking way to end the game, and the season, in an excruciating, high-pressured instantaneous moment. Of course everyone will have a lot to say about that. Hindsight is always 20/20 vision. 👁️👁️ Just as in life, there were also so many other moments one could point to that could have completely changed the final outcome. ✨🔮✨🤷🏻‍♂️

But there were so many TRULY GREAT and amazing plays throughout the game, and we definitely had an exciting and great day at the ballpark otherwise. Dodger fans are really so incredibly warm and friendly! Their very”retro” historic ballpark built in 1962 is incredibly beautiful with the most breathtaking views, and a really kick-ass sound system! 🔊🗯️🌴⛰️⛰️⛰️☀️

So glad we won on Wednesday and Karen and I were able to make it there.

I just read an article that alluded to something I was ranting about to Jim the other day. I was going on and on about what's most important in life and how people need to get their priorities in order and stop allowing themselves to be distracted by melodramatic nonsense. I kept coming up with the same word mentioned in the article:

“World-renowned billionaires Warren Buffett and Bill Gates were once asked at a gathering to write down on a sheet of paper their secret to success in one word.

They both gave the same answer: “focus”

The article went on to quote another important point that I think is worth considering as well:

“The thing you do obsessively between age 13 and 18, that's the thing you have the most chance of being world-class at.” —Bill Gates

For me, I'd have to say that "thing" was creativity in decorative arts and home furnishings. 🌈❤️🙏🏻 ✨🎨✨
