’Twas the Night Before Closing 🏡🐓

’Twas the night before closing, and all through the house, Not a creature was stirring—not even my spouse. The contracts were signed, the inspection was clear, And dreams of their new home filled clients with cheer.

The lockbox was hung on the front door with care,
In hopes that the buyers soon would be there.
But me, in my blazer, with my planner in hand,
Had one last surprise perfectly planned.

When out in the yard, there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my desk to see what was the matter.
Away to the coop, I flew like a flash,
Dodging my chickens (and a little chicken scratch).

The moon on the lawn where my hens like to peck,
Lit up my sold sign and my scarf’d chicken, Beck.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But my happy new clients—smiling ear to ear!

With a wink and a laugh, I pulled out a key,
And said, “Welcome home, from the chickens and me!” 🐓 So if you’re buying or selling, don’t be afraid,
Because I’ll guide you home (and bring fresh eggs, homemade!).
