We are overflowing with gratitude for the extraordinary outpouring of support bestowed upon single mother Ms. Davis today.

This joyous family adoption milestone marks a groundbreaking corporate social responsibility initiative for Tanya Associated Business Services, one that will forever leave a lasting impact.

Although our primary focus this year was on securing workforce and providing affordable housing, it was in October that we felt an overwhelming sense of purpose to adopt one of the families we had placed in one of our housing units.

The boundless generosity displayed by YWCA Homelife Management Center, The Mill Space, Ms. Beverly Stokes, Ms. Becky Harrington of Delaware Prosperity Partnership, and the visionary Chef, Owner, and CEO of Cafe Mezzanotte, deeply touched our hearts.

We were equally humbled by the surprise visit from esteemed U.S. Senators Chris C***s and Lisa Blunt Rochester at The Mill Space while we served the family, their presence lending an unforgettable air of distinction to the occasion.

The atmosphere was nothing short of magical, filled with contagious laughter, unconditional love, and genuine warmth, prompting even our City of Wilmington YCD Interns to remark, 'today was a good day!' For them to meet the Senators was a defining moment, one that will surely shape their perspective. Major Milestone Achieved! Councilwoman Zanthia Oliver Endorses Our Vacant Lot Acquisition in Wilmington, DE!

We are thrilled to share a significant update in our journey to acquire a vacant lot from the City of Wilmington, DE!

As part of our commitment to community-aligned economic development, we sought feedback and formal commitment from local leadership. We are immensely grateful that Councilwoman Zanthia Oliver of the district did not hesitate to provide a formal Letter of Support for our proposal!

This endorsement is a powerful accelerator in the complex acquisition process and a strong validation of our project's vision for the community. The Letter of Support was addressed to Bob Weir, Director of the City of Wilmington, Delaware Department of Real Estate & Housing.

Why does a Council Letter of Support Matter?

In city acquisition processes, this letter demonstrates:

Community Alignment: Our project meets the needs and vision of the constituents.

What an incredible first week with our two talented Marketing Assistants, Ena Pittman & Amari Akins, from the City of Wilmington's Youth Career Development (YCD): Academic Career Pathway Program! We've hit the ground running, and these future leaders are already making waves.

Their week one onboarding was packed with exciting introductions and professional development:

Exploring THE MILL: We started with a comprehensive walk-through of the beautiful and innovative Mill Space, our dynamic co-working environment. The students were particularly impressed with The Mill Space cutting-edge Podcast Studio, where they got a glimpse into the world of digital content creation.

Professional Headshots: The amazing Operations Director at THE MILL Rebecca Ashton Parsons, took stunning professional headshots for both students. These will be essential for their upcoming features and professional branding!

LinkedIn Profile Creation: Understanding the importance of professional networking, Tanya Associated Business Services guided both students in creating their very own LinkedIn profiles. They're now officially connected and ready to showcase their skills and growth.

We are so proud of their eagerness to learn and their proactive approach. These students are definitely on the move, and we can't wait to support them on their career journey!

We are on the ground and achieving significant progress!

In 2024, we made SAFETY our #1 Goal, utilizing the STEP Framework. It's been a rewarding journey! We were proud to receive the STEP Participant Award in 2024, for 2023 performance, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒉𝒐𝒏𝒐𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝑰𝑳𝑽𝑬𝑹 𝑨𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒅 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒐𝒖𝒓 2024 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆, 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒚𝒆𝒂𝒓 𝒊𝒏 2025.

We worked hard for that while making those improved changes.

What is STEP? It's a robust, no-cost framework provided by ABC’s STEP Health and Safety Management System that allows contractors and suppliers to measure safety data and benchmark within the industry. This self-assessment tool has been invaluable for Tanya Associated Business Services, helping us identify opportunities to enhance our health and safety programs when outsourcing construction projects, ultimately lowering total recordable incident rates.

This success wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of the ABC Delaware SAFETY Committee Members and their willingness to share best practices. Special thanks to Scott Cudmore, CSP (M. Davis Construction), Kathy Stiller & Team (Brightfield’s), Michele Heckler-Garcia (BPGS Construction), and many others.

I am incredibly proud to report that as the developer, we had zero incidents with Vision Builders & Associates and their subcontractors. Kudos to Brightfields for their leadership on our asbestos cases!
