Our homes feature authentic coastal details inspired by the Carolinas’ rich architectural heritage. Tabby-finish foundations pay tribute to a centuries-old building tradition dating back to the 17th century, when Spanish settlers and English colonists burnt oyster shells to create lime. It was then mixed with sand, and water to create “coastal concrete”, and durable structures—many of which still stand today.
Complementing this timeless look is our salt-finish concrete. By embedding coarse rock salt into freshly poured concrete and washing it away after curing, we create a beautiful, one-of-a-kind textured surface that offers both character and enhanced slip resistance.
