When REALTORS® show up, homeowners have a voice.
This week at the 2026 NC Realtors Legislative Meetings in Raleigh was a powerful reminder that advocacy does not happen from the sidelines.
We had the opportunity to sit down with lawmakers, talk about the housing challenges facing North Carolina, and advocate for policies that protect private property rights, expand housing opportunities, and support stronger communities.
Housing affordability and availability are real issues across our state. North Carolina is projected to face a housing shortage of more than 764,000 units over the next five years, and that affects everyone. Families, renters, seniors, teachers, nurses, first responders, business owners, and future homeowners all feel the impact.
One of the major priorities discussed was Senate Bill 445, the Regulatory Reform Act of 2026, which focuses on reducing unnecessary barriers, encouraging responsible residential development, and creating more flexibility for housing solutions, including accessory dwelling units.
This is why REALTOR® advocacy matters.
We are not just opening doors.
We are working to make sure more people have the opportunity to walk through one.
Proud to stand with REALTORS® from across North Carolina and represent our communities in the rooms where decisions are being made.
