Do you associate a certain smell with home?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For me, it's magnolias. Our salt box home, built in the 70's, sat behind a massive magnolia tree that was in full bloom every May.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
During the summer, when we played outside, we would climb the magnolia tree as high as we could and pretend we were sailing a pirate ship. In September, the leaves started to fall and by October, I was bundled up in my winter gear, raking up mounds of leaves (until I complained enough about the blisters forming between my thumb and index finger).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Whenever I pass by a magnolia tree, my memory takes me back to that home on Brentwood Drive and I get a warm, fuzzy feeling inside. That feeling is home.

This week was unfortunately just one I would rather soon forget and move past. I lost one of my residents to Covid who was such a sweet and dear friend. It was shocking and devastating which is sadly not new to many of us. Today me and Finnie girl are focusing on relaxing on this Saturday morning and enjoying the quietness of our home. Of course she took ownership of my favorite new chair from .

After 15 years my fridge decided it was time to call it quits. Repairman said it would cost $1000 for repairs. Yea.. no thanks! So I searched for the perfect retro fridge. Mind you these don’t run cheap but I happened to find a brand new one online for a decent price. I am singing to the angels tonight! ❤️🙏😊

Sunday vibes before the trick or treaters. Picked up this bench for free. It needs a little love but I’m excited to bring it back to life. Finnie approved
