🌴 Looking for the perfect Florida beach day from Central Florida?

We spent the day at Lori Wilson Park in Cocoa Beach and ended it watching massive cruise ships sail away from Port Canaveral! 🚢☀️

Lori Wilson Park is one of my favorite beaches on Florida's Space Coast. With free parking, clean restrooms, picnic areas, and easy beach access, it's the perfect destination for families, couples, and anyone looking for an easy beach day near Orlando.

One of the best parts? It's a straight shot on SR-528 from Winter Garden, Windermere, Clermont, and the Orlando area. Most days it's about an hour drive, and even with cruise port traffic, you're usually there within 90 minutes.

After the beach, we headed over to the waterfront restaurants near Port Canaveral's cruise terminals to grab dinner and watch the ships depart around 4 PM. Seeing Royal Caribbean's Star of the Seas up close from a completely different perspective was incredible. These ships truly look like floating cities as they head out to sea.

We finally made it to Color Me Mine in Winter Garden with my daughter, and I can see why it’s become such a popular local spot! Even though they’ve been open for a while, this was our first visit—and the studio was packed.

The concept is simple: choose a pottery piece, paint it however you’d like, and then they glaze and fire it for you. There are plenty of options for all ages, with most pottery pieces ranging from around $20 to $80+ depending on what you choose. There’s also a $10 studio fee per painter, which covers the paints, supplies, glazing, and firing.

My daughter had an amazing time creating her own masterpiece, and it was such a fun way to spend a few hours together. Whether you’re looking for a family activity, rainy day activity, girls’ day out, date night idea, birthday celebration, or just something different to do in Winter Garden, this is worth checking out.
